TOP 10 LIST FOR MASTERS ATHLETES/OLDER CLIENTS
Bruce Kelly
Mike had a series of these top 10 lists going on in various articles and by various authors last year so I thought I might revisit the concept. Because of the interest on the forum lately about training Masters athletes and older clients I thought it might be a good time to address the subject as it pertains to those populations. . . . keep reading

Modified Strongman Training in the Real World
Art McDermott
Wouldn't it be great if every training facility in the world had ample room for every type of workout modality you could think of? You could throw, drag, carry, load and press all types of implements up inclines, down straight-aways in as many ways as you could imagine. . . . keep reading

Conference Review: The Summit of Strength & Conditioning and Sports Medicine at the University of Louisiana Monroe
Dave Trevino
Editors note- Dave Trevino is currently finishing up his internship at University of North Texas and recently accepted an internship with the NJ Jets. He is also like many on the site a former MBSC intern. Dave was lucky enough to attend the Summit of Strength and Conditioning in Louisiana and hear some true legends of strength and conditioning speak. I can truly say I am jealous and contemplated going to the seminar myself. Had my nephew not been getting married in Florida I would have flown down to hear this in person. Prepare for the simple wisdom of some real masters. We will be making an exception and selling the DVD's from this seminar on the site if we can arrange it. . . . keep reading

Getting Your Athletes Onboard Your Bus
Sean Skahan
I've become a fan of some really good motivational books that talk about teamwork and bringing positive energy to your workplace and life in general. A book that I like is "The Energy Bus" by Tom Gordon. This book is about an unhappy manager who gets into some car trouble, and as a result, is forced to take the bus to work every day. In the story, he meets some good people on the bus who give him advice on how to create positive energy and improve teamwork in his own life and at the workplace. . . . keep reading

Why We Can't Trust Anyone
Tom Wigginton
In response to Coach Boyle's article, X-Files Trust No One, I completely agree with Mike that it is necessary to be a cynic when it comes to nutrition and the food options we have today. I believe that Mike states correctly that 'the large food manufacturers are doing the same thing that the tobacco companies did in the seventies. "Knowingly and secretly ... put[ting] the buying public at risk".' I also feel that it's easier to understand (but certainly not forgive) when you explore what some of the motivation is behind the actions. . . . keep reading
